MONTEVIDEO

Montevideo, the uruguayan capital with its  1.7 mio. inhabitants has always been shaded by the neighbouring Buenos Aires, being considered as the Paris of South America, where for decades immigrants from Europe were finding shelter. But certainly for that reason, Montevideo has been able to preserve its culture and its peculiar charme. The Rio de la Plata is an indispensable ingredient to the daily life and shapes the rhythm of its inhabitants, the promenade being as important as the Malecón in Havanna.
Together with the argentinian publisher Ediciones Lariviere, wanting to pay tribute to the city of Montevideo, the project has been realized and published in 2003 in Argentina and co-published with le Passage in France.
