HABANOS

In the last years I've made a couple of journeys to Cuba. One of the  initial reason for it, was the fascination for the art of manufacturing cigars.
The refined tradition of rolling cigars will probably not be able to hold against the fact, that the production of cigars has doubled in the last years, which has brought the infrastructure to its very limits.
This documentation shows a variety of aspects of the tabacco culture: the CULTIVATION in the western region of Cuba, the processing in the factories in Havanna, the country-school, where pupils from the cities are brought for a month in order to study  the tabacco-culture, the consumption of cigars by the Cubans, who can purchase cigars which haven't made it through the final quality-check with their food-rationing card.
This work is a tribute to the disappearing arts and crafts and got published in the book "Habanos mi Amor" by the KEG Publisher in Salzburg and in the korean GEO Magazine.
